We will feature brands like “I Heart Dogs” – a company that supports and donates to veterans. We will also set up a consignment partnership with local artists and merchants that sell pet-related products in the community (if you’re interested in selling at HOTD, contact us here). The marketplace will sell pre-packaged food items like snacks and chips. Local food trucks will stop by on a regular basis to change up the menu.

Where are you located?

We are continuing to seek opportunities to engage city and county officials, neighborhood associations and the community in our quest to find the perfect location for this project!

do you have an off-leash play area?

YES!  That’s what makes HOTD so unique.  The facility will sit on more than 2 acres of land and have a large outdoor dog park (separated for large and small dogs).  We will also have a 6,000 square foot building that features a 2,000 square foot indoor dog park (separated for large and small dogs).

Are vaccination records required?

Yes, we require current Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccinations before your dog can play, so come prepared! Please note, having Bordetella vaccination does not guarantee your dog won’t get kennel cough, but helps increase their immunity to it. If your dog just got re-vaccinated for Bordetella, they must wait 24 hours before coming. If it’s your dog’s first time getting a Bordetella vaccination, they must wait 14 days before coming to Hair of the Dog.

Records can be sent electronically via hairofthedogpensacola@gmail.com.

Ensuring vaccinations are current is the dog owner’s responsibility. You can submit the records at our check in desk or if you’d like to save time, you can download them here. Please email updates as they occur for continued entry to the Dog Park.

Yes, if you can supply a recent (within 3 months) titer test showing that the dog has the appropriate level of immunity, we will accept that in lieu of a vaccination.

Does my dog have to be spayed or neutered?

We require all dogs to be fixed (spayed or neutered) to use the Dog Park. Please email us if you have questions.

do you have breed restrictions?

No. We do not believe in breed restrictions.  Any vaccinated, well-socialized dog over 4 months of age that is spayed/neutered is welcome to visit HOTD.

Where will my dog pee?

Bark Pass holders will have access to an outside fenced-in area to take their dogs to relieve themselves as well as a large indoor K-9 grass potty patch with a unique backing that allows for immediate drainage of liquid waste. We will disinfect and hose the area frequently throughout the day to ensure cleanliness.

Do you offer boarding or day care?

Not at this time, but we do have a pet sitting option. Please see a Pack Leader for more information.

Sure! All human community members are welcome to come to the park for FREE.  There is a One-day Bark Pass available for dogs that just want to check us out and see what all the excitement is about!

Can I come without a dog?

Heck yeah! Lots of people like to visit with dogs but can’t or don’t own one for many different reasons.  Feel free to stop by the park to watch the dogs play and/or hang out with your friends.   We will have a short liability form for you to fill out at our check in desk.  You only have to fill this form out once, when you first visit. If you’d like to fill out the form in advance to save time, you can access it here. Just complete the form and show the confirmation email at the check in desk when you get to HOTD.

Does the staff watch out for my dog?

Pack Leaders will be located throughout the park and will make their best effort to keep eyes on the floor and monitor the level of play, but your dog is your responsibility. If your dog is displaying any signs of aggression or aggravating other dogs, we may ask you to take a time out or leave.

Yes!  Our staff of Pack Leaders will supervise your pup while you grab a drink or a bite to eat, watch a game or get some work done on your laptop. Just let them know that your leaving. Please note that you must stay on HOTD grounds while your dog is playing.

Can I bring my puppy?

Sure, as long they are at least 4 months old and have all the required vaccinations.

Yes! We love kids and we want them to feel safe and have fun while they are visiting HOTD. To ensure both your kids and the dogs in the park have a great experience, we have developed a HOTD Kids” Policy. Highlights of this policy are:

  • Kids are always welcome in any of our on-leash areas.
  • In the off-leash parks, the following rules apply:
    • All kids 16 and under must be accompanied by an adult
    • Kids 4-12 must watch our “I’m a HOTD Kid” video and take a quiz
    • Kids 8 & under must be in the IMMEDIATE PHYSICAL PRESENCE of a parent or guardian.
    • Kids may not climb on play equipment, run in the park, or tease/taunt dogs.

Our Pack Leaders will politely enforce these rules to ensure a safe and fun environment for all humans and dogs.

Can I tour the facility?

YES! If you would like to bring your dog with you, you can purchase a 1-day pass (liability waiver required). If you want to check things out on your own, please feel free to stop by during business hours.

Can we bring in outside food?

No. We will have a variety of pre-packaged snacks (chips, nuts, candy, etc.) as well as cold beverages available for purchase in the marketplace.  Also we are working to partner with local food trucks to offer our guests a variety of food options.
